The Buzzards Bay Area Habitat effort installs ramps for low-income homeowners in Fairhaven and nearby towns at no cost, then reuses them for other families when no longer needed.
   

4. Fairhaven woman gets years in state prison for child rape charges (southcoasttoday.com) — A Fairhaven resident has been sentenced to several years in state prison plus probation for her role in a series of child sexual abuse crimes that occurred in Fairhaven and New Bedford. Prosecutors say her testimony helped secure a much longer sentence for her husband, and investigators linked the abuse to incidents at their Fairhaven home following a 2022 visit by two teenage girls.

Fairhaven Kitten Safe and Recovering After Police Rescue (fun107.com) — A kitten rescued by a Fairhaven police officer earlier this week is now safe, recovering, and under the care of New England Animal Hospital in Fairhaven. Staff have named her Noel, are treating her leg’s nerve damage, and one employee is fostering her to monitor healing. Her story highlights both her resilience and the compassion of local first responders and veterinarians.
