3 Taken To Hospital After Weekend Cape Cod Fire

All residents of the home and the family dogs made it out safe, officials said. The home, however, suffered "extensive" damage.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod home suffered "extensive" fire damage, but all residents and the family dogs were able to make it out safe.

The Falmouth Emergency Communication Center received a call for a structure fire around 8 p.m. on Saturday. The fire was reported at a home on Plum Hollow Road in East Falmouth.

Arriving on scene, Engine 20 out of Hatchville Station 6 reported heavy smoke and fire. The Engine 20 crew advanced a fire attack line to the rear of the structure where the heaviest fire was located, officials said.

They quickly knocked down the fire and all occupants, including the family dogs, were out of the structure.

One civilian and two firefighters were taken to Falmouth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"The scene required an extensive overhaul to ensure the fire was extinguished. Fire damage to the structure is extensive," officials said.

The fire remains under investigation.
