40,000 Square Foot Church Coming to East Falmouth

Falmouth will soon have a new claim to fame: Home of one of the biggest churches in New England.

Using 10 acres of land to create a new, 40,000 square foot church, Cape Cod Baptist Church's construction of their new space is well underway on Route 151, Cape Cod Wave reported.

The new church costs about $8 million and will include a 1,000-person auditorium, a 100-foot tall steel cross, exterior coverings that resemble sails and a giant giant wall that faces the main road.

The 1,000 seat auditorium will be the second largest on Cape Cod, after the Barnstable High School Performing Arts Center, according to Cape Cod Wave.
