Barnstable County Sheriff, Community, Mourn Mashpee's Bob Dillon
Robert "Bob" Dillon, who worked with various law enforcement agencies, died on Aug. 23. He was 78.
MASHPEE, MA — The Barnstable County Sheriff's Office, and much of the Cape Cod community, is mourning the death of Robert "Bob" Dillon this week.
Dillon, who worked with various law enforcement agencies, most recently as the Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources at the Sheriff's Office, died suddenly on Aug. 23, according to an obituary. He was 78.
Dillon worked for 17 years as the Budget Director with the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office, and even had a stint as the Deputy Sheriff in the county, according to an obituary. Dillon worked for a number of years, and most recently, with the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Dillon," the Sheriff's Office shared.
"Bob served as the BCSO's Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources for many years and will be greatly missed by all. Our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Ruthann, and all of the Dillon family."

Dillon is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruthann Dillon as well as his two children, Robert Dillon and Kelli-ann McCabe.
A visitation was held in Mashpee on Sunday, when the family asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Barnstable County Deputy Sheriff’s Association Youth Programs.
