Welcome to our yearlong series in which “America’s Preeminent Presidential Doodler”, Heather Rogers, shares facts, factoids, and fun illustrations about the presidents of these United States.
This month we move to another James - James Monroe: James Monroe and James Madison are not interchangeable! It’s true. He wore knee breeches and stockings long after they were cool; the only foreign capital named for a U.S. president was named for him. Like two of his predecessors, he died on July 4.
This program will be recorded and is sponsored by the Library Board of Trustees and is in collaboration with Ashland Public Library and a multitude of MA and NH libraries.
