Cape Cod Biker Crashes At 110 MPH Fleeing Police
Police said Robert Alves, of Yarmouth, crashed his Kawasaki Ninja at 110 mph trying to flee officers.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod motorcyclist who led a police officer on a chase in Yarmouth over and weekend crashed at 110 mph and now faces a host of charges. Robert Alves, 21, was hospitalized with minor injuries following the crash Saturday night.
Police said Alves was riding a red and white Kawasaki Ninja on Buck Island Road when Officer Sean Geary clocked him at 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. The officer activated his emergency sirens and tried to pull Alves over. The motorcyclist instead sped up, blew a red light and accelerated to 100 mph, police said.
When the officer reached Camp Street, he saw Alves crawling out of the woods, with his busted motorcycle up against trees. Alves was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment.

"When interviewed by police at Cape Cod Hospital, Alves stated he was very sorry and the last thing he remembered before crashing was looking at the speedometer and seeing 110mph," Yarmouth police said in a statement.
