Cape Cod Delivery Driver Rescued From Submerged Truck
The driver was uninjured after spending at least 20 minutes in the submerged vehicle, local fire officials said.
WELLFLEET, MA — First responders on Cape Cod were able to rescue a local delivery driver from a terrifying situation on Saturday.
At 11:33 a.m., the Wellfleet Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a submerged delivery truck with the driver in the vehicle.
Two firefighters entered the water with a rescue boat to assist the driver. By 11:56 a.m., firefighters successfully reached the driver and confirmed they were uninjured.

The patient was transported to shore by boat and safely reached land, where EMS evaluated them.
Officials said drivers and residents should use caution when on Lieutenant Island Road, especially during high tides, which pose "significant" risks to drivers.
