Cape Cod Teen Injured In Bike, Car Accident

The 13-year-old suffered minor injuries, and none of the occupants of the car were injured, officials said.

BOURNE, MA — A Cape Cod teenager suffered minor injury during an accident involving a car and a bicycle.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers from the Bourne Police Department responded to the intersection of Main Street and Academy Drive for a reported motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist, officials said.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a 13-year-old with minor injuries being tended to by her parents.

Police said that a gray Acura MDX had been traveling west on Main Street and had a green light as it approached the intersection of Main Street and Academy Drive. The teenager rode her bicycle across Main Street directly in front of the Acura and was struck by it, officials said.

The vehicle had minor damage but the operator was able to drive it from the scene. None of the occupants were injured and all remained on scene.

The teenager was taken to a hospital for an evaluation, accompanied by her mother, police said.
