Cape Cod Traffic: Long Bridge Delays

BOURNE, MA — Drivers heading out of Cape Cod Friday experienced the beginning of a weeks-long traffic nightmare at the Sagamore Bridge. Two lanes of traffic on the bridge were closed for repair work. The Army Corps of Engineers will replace damaged roadway joints. The work is expected to continue through late May.

The bridge, opened in 1935, has four lanes of traffic — two in each direction. One lane of traffic in each direction was closed for the repair work.
