DUI For Cape Cod Driver Who Hit Officer: Police

WAREHAM, MA — A Cape Cod driver was arrested Wednesday night and charged with driving under the influence after police said he crashed into an officer parked on the side of the road in Wareham. The crash happened on Onset Avenue. The driver's identity was not immediately released.

The Wareham Department of Natural Resources said an officer was parked on the side of the road in a truck trying to find a seal when the driver slammed into the rear of the vehicle. The driver was hospitalized; the officer was not hurt, police said.
