Falmouth High School Drug Sweep Comes Up Empty

Falmouth High School was placed in lockdown for as police dogs searched the building.

FALMOUTH, MA — A drug sweep at Falmouth High School Monday morning came up empty, according to police. The search was conducted at about 8:30 a.m. The school was placed in lockdown as police dogs cased the building for about a half-hour.

"We are pleased to report that no illegal drugs or unauthorized items were found during the search," Falmouth High School officials said in a statement. "Falmouth High School greatly appreciates the cooperation and professionalism of the local law enforcement agencies involved, and we commend our students and staff for their cooperation during the drill."

Police from Falmouth, Bourne, Barnstable, Truro, Pembroke, Stoughton and the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office conducted the search.
