Falmouth Mosquitoes Positive For West Nile Virus Again
This is the third positive test coming from the Sider's Pond area of Falmouth, health officials said.
FALMOUTH, MA — For a third time, a mosquito sample collected from Falmouth tested positive for West Nile Virus, town health officials said.
The sample was taken on Sept. 4, the same location as the previous two positive samples, which were taken on July 30 and Aug. 4, respectively, in the Sider's Pond area on Falmouth's southwest side.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has maintained Falmouth's West Nile Virus risk level from low to moderate as a result, officials said.

Cape Cod Mosquito Control Project officials collect routine mosquito samples as part of MDPH’s surveillance program for mosquito-borne diseases.
"The Falmouth Health Department will continue to work closely with the MDPH and the Cape Cod Mosquito Control Project (CCMCP) on mosquito control efforts," officials said.
