Katie credits her older brother Stefan with introducing her to the sport.
“When I think back to the time I first picked up a basketball as a shy 8-year-old girl, I can’t imagine how much this sport has allowed me to accomplish and learn about myself,” said Katie.

Katie also coaches youth basketball and encourages girls to keep their priorities straight.
“ … [I] encourage them to excel in school and not just the basketball court,” she said. “No matter how important sports are to a student, it is … academic performance that will open doors and shape your future opportunities.”
Katie was nominated to be this week’s Falmouth Patch Whiz Kid by the Falmouth High School Guidance Department. Congratulations, Katie!
