Falmouth Police to Hold 'National Night Out' Next Week

The Falmouth Police Department will participate in the "National Night Out," a community event that celebrates crime watch communities and public safety agencies.

All crime watch groups and the general public are invited from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 6 at the Falmouth Police Headquarters.

There will be a variety of events including a tour of the station, activities for children, a K-9 dog demonstration and displays of police equipment. Food and refreshments will be served.

Representatives from the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Coastguard, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Falmouth Marine & Environmental Services and the Falmouth fire department will also be in attendance.

In the past, Falmouth police celebrated "National Night Out" in each separate neighborhood but decided to consolidate the event in the spirit of community, according to an announcement this week.
