More Severe Storms, Heavy Rain Possible In MA This Week
After a wild week of weather, it's possible Massachusetts could be hit with more severe storms and heavy rain late Monday into Tuesday.
MASSACHUSETTS — Just one week after two tornadoes and heavy rainfall caused a litany of problems in Massachusetts, it's possible there could be more severe weather heading for the Bay State.
The National Weather Service said a warm weather front is expected to bring showers and a few thunderstorms into the state late Monday night into Tuesday morning. However, if that warm front lifts, heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms could follow.
These storms are primarily likely to happen south of the Mass Pike and the south coast of the state, according to the NWS. In this area, if a storm takes shape, there is a chance for damaging winds and a low risk for a brief tornado, officials said.

Another Week Of Wild Weather?
This forecast comes after a week of wild weather in Massachusetts, which included flooding and tornadoes earlier in the week and wind-related damage on Sunday.
Just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, a restaurant's tables were overturned and one person was hit by flying debris on Nantucket. A home on Goose Pond Lane was also struck by lightning.
In Easton, the Sunday storm knocked down power lines and trees in Easton and Raynham, the NWS said.
Earlier in the week, two tornadoes were confirmed to have touched down in the state, with one in Mattapoisett and one in Barnstable. The effects of that storm are still being felt on Monday in Barnstable, as road closures were needed to complete storm cleanup.
Flooding also posed a major problem for communities across the state, as cars were stuck in flooding and North Andover was forced to declare a state of emergency.
