No Injuries In Cape Cod Grocer Fire

The store was able to reopen after a short period, officials said.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth grocer was able to reopen after a kitchen fire on Friday morning.

Just after 8 a.m., Falmouth Fire and Rescue responded to Family Foods for a fire alarm. Upon arrival, the first crew discovered a fire in the kitchen.

The incident was upgraded to a first alarm response and the store was evacuated. The fire was quickly extinguished using fire extinguishers, and the store was ventilated to clear it of smoke.

Falmouth's Inspectional Services and Health Agent responded to help in the evaluation of the property. The store was able to partially reopen after a short period, and there were no injuries.
