Provincetown Pride Returns For 2024: What To Know
Provincetown will host the second annual Pride Festival later this week with celebrations across the community planned for the weekend.
PROVINCETOWN, MA — Pride is set to return to Provincetown for the seventh year starting this week with a full slate of events to celebrate.
Though Boston may lay claim to the biggest Pride month event in Massachusetts, no community is more important to LGBTQ+ culture in the Commonwealth than Provincetown.
Each June during Pride month for the last six years, the Provincetown Business Guild and many local businesses have hosted events, art shows, parties and more to highlight LGBTQ+ culture.

Though this year marks the formal seven-year mark for Provincetown Pride, officials with the Business Guild made sure to note that there have been plenty of instances of Pride celebrations and demonstrations on Commercial Street before 2018.
On the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising — the landmark moment for the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement — Provincetown hosted a gay and lesbian liberation march, likely the first pride march in the town's history.

The Pride celebrations for 2024 start on Friday with events across the community. A full list of events can be found here.
Provincetown will host the second annual Pride Festival on June 1 inside Town Hall, from 12 to 4 p.m. A Pride rally is set to follow at 4 p.m. and both events are free.
