Residents Safe After Cape Cod House Fire
The fire was contained, limiting damage to the residence during the fire.
FALMOUTH, MA — The residents of a Cape Cod home were able to evacuate a house fire on Friday morning, officials said.
Around 3 a.m. on Friday, Falmouth Fire and Rescue responded to a basement fire at a home in the Waterside on Coonamessett neighborhood off of Sandwich Road.
All residents were safely evacuated before crews arrived, though one resident was evaluated on the scene. They refused transportation to an area hospital.

Officials said the fire was quickly contained to one appliance in the basement, though heavy smoke filled the house. Crews were able to ventilate the structure, however.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
