In Provincetown, Bradford Street from Prince Street to Court Street was completely shut down to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Wednesday due to a fallen tree and downed wires, police said. It has since reopened.

Officials there did use the weather as a "practice test" to evaluate new deployable coastal flood barriers "in the low-lying area along Commercial Street in the area between Howland Street and Anthony Street," officials said.

The temporary test barriers remained in place for the high tide cycle beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday through 8 a.m. high tide on Thursday.

Orleans fire crews were needed on the scene of a utility pole fire on Old County Road, among other calls for service, officials said.
