Wareham Man Sentenced In Child Pornography Case

A 38-year-old from West Wareham will serve half a decade in prison, officials said.

WAREHAM, MA — A West Wareham man was sentenced to prison for child pornography charges.

Joshua Roe, 38, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Brian E. Murphy to five years in prison and five years of supervised release.

In January 2025, Roe pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. Roe has remained in federal custody since his arrest in September 2024.

On Sept. 6, 2024, during a search of Roe’s home, approximately 11 electronic devices belonging to Roe were recovered. While on site, a forensic examination was conducted on at least one device, which revealed images and videos depicting CSAM.

At a later date, further forensic examinations of the seized devices were conducted and CSAM was found on seven of those devices, including deleted CSAM files.
