April Ryan to Headline Simmons University’s 2023 Gwen Ifill Forum

Event features a discussion with White House Correspondent April Ryan and NBC News Correspondent Rehema Ellis on Saturday, February 11

Simmons University will host the 2023 Ifill Forum, "Leadership and Democracy: The Enduring Power of Black Women” on Saturday, February 11. This year's event features legendary White House Correspondent April Ryan, who will participate in a moderated discussion with NBC News Chief Education Correspondent Rehema Ellis ’74, ‘00HD.

The Forum takes place at Simmons and will also be streamed virtually. Following the event, the Ifill College will host a book signing for Ryan’s new book, Black Women Will Save the World: An Anthem. Copies of her book will be sold at the event.

During the Forum, Ryan will be honored with the Gwen Ifill Next Generation Award — presented to an individual who embodies Simmons alumna Gwen Ifill's commitment to professional excellence, mentoring, and the public good.

The Ifill Forum is free and open to the public. Masks are strongly encouraged. For the book signing portion of the event, masks are required.
