Charlestown Man Charged With Choking Victim on Boylston Street
Police said an argument turned into a violent altercation on Friday.

Police have a Charlestown man in custudy after an argument turned into a violent fight in a Boylston Street parking lot on Friday night.
Officers responded to a report of an assault and battery near Boylston Street and Ipswich Street at 1:35 a.m. on Friday, February 1.

At the scene, officers spoke with an officer who witnesses the suspect tackle the victim in the middle of the street. Officers spoke with the victim, who stated that they got into an argument with the suspect, which turned into a violent altercation.
The suspect reportedly choked the victim while parked at a nearby gas station, according to police. The victim stated that they exited the car and made their way onto the street. At this point, the suspect ran out and tackled the victim, police said.

Yiou Li of 22 Gardener Street, Charlestown, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
