Citgo Sign Staying in Boston
An agreement will secure the sign's future, the mayor's office said.

The Citgo sign nestled in the Boston sky beyond Fenway's Green Monster will be staying put, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced early Wednesday afternoon.
Citgo and Related Beal, the owners of 660 Beacon St., have come to an agreement that would secure the sign's once-uncertain future.
I'm happy to share an agreement has been reached b/t Related Beal and CITGO that will ensure the CITGO sign remains in Kenmore Square. (1/3)

The Boston Preservation Alliance had been gathering thousands of signatures in an attempt to persuade the Boston Landmarks Commission to designate the sign as a city landmark. Those efforts could still continue, but it appears now not needed to secure the future of the sign.
