A Fall River man was arrested on Sunday for assault and battery on a police officer at Jillian's Lucky Strike Boston in on Ipswich Street.

At 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, Boston Police officers said they were on detail at 145 Ipswich Street when a security officer drew an officer’s attention to the third floor of the club.

A fight had broken out and police said they observed security guards attempting to break it up. They pulled one of the combatants aside, but he continued to fight on, police said. However, as an officer stepped forward to assist the security guard and talk to the allegedly unruly man, the man reached out and slapped the officer in the face.
