UPDATED: Area Near Fenway Park Evacuated; Flammable Liquids Found in Basement Lab
The FBI Joint Terrorism Taskforce, Police and hazmat crews are on the scene on Kilmarnock Street. Residents are allowed back in.

The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force is working with investigators after several buildings near Fenway Park were evacuated due to a hazmat situation on Kilmarnock Street. Others have been told to stay inside and away from windows.
Residents have been allowed back into the neighborhood, but several roads remain closed, and police are diverting traffic from the area

Boston Police and hazmat crews, who have been on the scene of a building on Kilmarnock Street in the Fenway area since just before 7 p.m., after police discovered a large amount of flammable liquids and acids, as well as a heating device in the building. Boston Fire and EMS crews are also on the scene. Boston Police Commissioner William Evans described the basement facility as some sort of “lab.”
Boston Fire officials say the location is a commercial building located at 76 Kilmarnock Street. The chemicals were found during an inspection at the building after officials received a complaint. Fire officials say there is no leak or spill.

DEP officials arrived on the scene just before 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Chemists are testing the materials to determine their identity, police officials said, and hope to clear the area later tonight. IN the meantime, more than a full block around the building will remain evacuated.
FD says health and building inspectors were doing routine inspection in the building and found the chemicals.
Officers are securing and evacuating the area and have closed off a large area near Fenway Park due to the hazmat situation.
There is a game at Fenway tonight. No word yet on how that is being impacted.
Kilmarnock Street starts a block west from Fenway Park and runs south from there.
Reports say some residents in the area have been evacuated. Those who have not been evacuated are under a shelter in place order and told to stay away from windows facing Kilmarnock Street.
Road closures in the Fenway area include Kilmarnock Street, Park Drive and Boylston Street, according to Massachusetts State Police. If you are headed to the area you need to seek alternate routes.
