Overnight Shooting Near Fenway Park Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

One man is dead and three are injured after an overnight shooting near Fenway Park, and Boston Police are searching for more information on what happened.

Police responded to the sound of shots fired at 19 Yawkey Way at 2 a.m. early Thursday morning, police said.

When they arrived, they found a male in his 20s who was “suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other male victims in their 20s were transported to Boston-area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The shooting followed high school football games at Fenway, according to WCVB, and “hundreds” were in the area at the time the shots were fired.

Fenway Park on Twitter asked that fans coming to Thursday’s football games “enter Gate B beginning at 8 am. Tickets for today will also be sold at Gate B.”
