Patriots' Rob Gronkowski Visits Emerson Class
Students at Emerson College recruited the Patriots football star to visit their class by using a targeted Twitter campaign.
Sometimes, a little persistance can pay off.
After a weeks-long Twitter campaign from Emerson College's Professor David Gerof's social media class, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski actually showed up.
Gronkowski informally taught that night's class, speaking to the students about how he uses social media to promote his brand and how he uses it to engage with his fans.

Each semester, Professor Gerzof launches a social media campaign with his "#ESM" students to show the power of social media by recruiting a celebrity to visit the class. This year, the targets were Grownkowski and movie star Mark Whalberg. Last year, they successfully solicited a visit from Chad Ochocino.
Emerson senior Sydney Manning told BostInno their persistence paid off. “All our hard work, and all the followers we lost [tweeting so much] were worth it,” she said.
