Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today, April 11: Whole Foods on Beacon Grand Opening

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a rainy day with a high of 49 degrees. There's a 60 percent chance of rain.

2. Whole Foods on Beacon Open Today: There will be a special "bread-breaking" ceremony at the newest location of Whole Foods near the Fenway area - Whole Foods Brookline, which will open today in the former location of Johnnie's Fresh Market on Beacon Street. See here for more information. 

3. Chefs for the Cure:  The 5^th annual “Chefs for the Cure” culinary fundraising event for Susan G. Komen will be held tonight at The Residences at W Boston. Fenway chef of Citizen's Public House and Oyster Bar will be one of the participating chefs. Tickets are $125 each. See here for more information. 

4. Northeastern Study: Researchers at Northeastern are looking to study how children process and learn language at the specific ages of 4, 7, and 11. If you've got a child that age, he or she could quality for the study, earn some money and contribute to science. See here for more information. 

5. BU on Broadway: BU On Broadway, Boston University’s premier musical theater group, will perform Micast, a student-written charity musical, April 12 (8:00 pm) and April 13 (2:00 pm and 8:00 pm) in BU’s Student Theater at Agganis Arena (925 Commonwealth Ave). All proceeds will benefit Express Yourself, a Beverly, MA, based non-profit providing exposure to performance arts for children from 17 local mental health rehabilitation facilities.Tickets can be bought at the door for $5 (students) or $7 (general admission).
