Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today, Jan. 18: Girls Empowerment at Northeastern
Here's what's happening your the neighborhood today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a mostly sunny day with a high of 24 degrees.
2. Girls Empowerment: Happening at Northeastern on Saturday is a "Day of Empowerment for Girls" hosted by City Councilor Ayanna Pressley. Girls and women of many ages and backgrounds, from neighborhoods across the City, will meet up to talk openly about all types of sexual violence and learn skills to empower and protect themselves. Happening Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NU's Raytheon Amphitheater (120 Forsyth St.) See here for more information.
3. NEC Concert: Pianist Mana Tokuno will perform at on Saturday night at NEC's Williams Hall (30 Gainsborough St.) Tokuno is the first Prize winner of the Competition Internationale and has received the Silver Medal in the Chubu Chopin Competition in Nagoya, Japan. Tokuno released her first solo CD in 2009. See here for more information.

4. Suicide Prevention: Join local AMP 103.3 personality, Joe Bermudez at the House of Blues Boston (15 Lansdowne St.) for “Make Noise 2013,” a benefit for the Samaritans to raise awareness and funds for youth suicide prevention.
