Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today, March 26: Wegmans Announced for Fenway

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a mostly sunny day with a high near 47 degrees. 

2. Wegmans coming to Fenway: Mayor Menino announced yesterday that Wegmans grocery store would be expanding into a redeveloped space at Landmark Center. See the full story here, then tell us, would you prefer to shop at Wegmans over Shaw's, or are you loyal to the Fenway Shaw's?

3. Parenting Seminar: Attention potential parents! Find out what's in store if you're planning to become pregnant at a free session being offered on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. 4. Northeastern Community Meeting: There's an upcoming community meeting for the Northeastern Task Force on Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. at 140 The Fenway (former Forsyth Dental Institute), Room 378. Attendees will discuss Northeastern University’s new Institutional Master Plan, City Councilor Tito Jackson’s suggestion regarding Roxbury’s relationship with Northeastern, and review the housing impact study in detail. 5. DCR art contest: The Department of Conservation and Recreation is seeking artists to paint wildlife and landscape scenes on 99 Iron Rangers, the narrow metal contribution containers located in parks across the state. Donations placed in the Iron Rangers directly benefit the state parks. Artists' proposals must be submitted by April 26. Selected artists will be notified by May 1, and the work must be completed by Aug. 30. Submissions should be sent to Sharon Hoey, Department of Conservation and Recreation, Suite 600, 251 Causeway St., Boston, MA 02114.
