Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today, May 10: Student Veteran Day at Northeastern
Find out what you should know in Fenway-Kenmore today.
1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a sunny day with a high near 81 degrees.
2. Honoring Student Veterans: The Massachusetts Student Veteran Advisory Board and the Student Veterans of America (SVA) is hosting a special student veteran day to gather members of the student veteran population from across Massachusetts, to connect student veterans with policy makers, hold a forum, hear speakers, vendors and services. The event will be held at Northeastern University’s Curry Student Center from 11 am. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. See here for more information.
3. Boston Pops for Joslin: This year, Joslin Diabetes Center will host their 27th annual celebration, Evening at Pops, at Boston’s Symphony Hall (301 Mass. Ave) on Friday night at 6 p.m. The event will feature Disney’s groundbreaking marriage of symphonic music and animation from Fantasia. Tickets are on sale now for $100-$200 each. 4. Flowers at West Elm Fenway: On Saturday, May 11 from 10 – 11 a.m., West elm Fenway (160 Brookline Ave.) is hosting the women behind Studio Choo, the hottest floral design studio in the country, and their flower-arranging bible for today's aesthetic, The Flower Recipe Book. Filled with an array of stunning, easy-to-find flowers, The Flower Recipe Book features 400 photos, more than 40 step-by-step slideshows and thoughtful tips throughout. Tickets are $65. 5. Boston Bites Back: There's a special fundraiser coming up next week at Fenway Park - Boston Bites Back, a chef-inspired event held at Fenway Park in support of The One Fund. Brought to you by Ming Tsai, Ken Oringer, Governor Patrick, Mayor Menino, and in partnership with ARAMARK and the Red Sox. May 15, 2013 from 6pm – 10pm. Tickets are $200 each.
