Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today, Nov. 13: Donation Day at Whole Foods Symphony

Here are five things happening today in the Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood and nearby.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a rainy day with a high of 48 degrees. The evening will be cloudy with a low around 37 degrees.

2. Whole Foods Donation Day: If you shop at Whole Foods Market Symphony today, 5 percent of your purchase will go towards the Future Chefs' scholarship campaign. Your shopping can help fill a students backpack with books and materials for college. You can also meet Future Chefs supporter, Andy Husbands of Boston’s popular South End restaurant Tremont 647 and watch him demonstrate some Thanksgiving tricks to prepare for the holidays. 3. Performance at Weelock: Performer Sharon Katz has been traveled across the world with her “Peace Train,” spreading their music to schools, colleges, and communities to help promote multicultural experiences and to end violence. 4. Annual Newbury Street League Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony: Stop by Hynes Convention Center at 5 p.m. for the Annual Newbury Street Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. 

5. Symphony Community Park Meeting: The Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services invite the public to the fourth in a series of meetings to discuss improvements to Symphony Community Park inthe Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood.
