• Gibson's Bookstore announces January author events lineup (theconcordinsider.com) — Fitchburg residents may be interested to know that local councilor-at-large and Fitchburg State University instructor Sally Cragin will headline a January author event at Gibson’s Bookstore, sharing her 2026 Moon Sign Book. The lineup also features several other regional and national authors, offering a range of fiction, horror, and faith-and-economics discussions to kick off the new year.
   

• Empower Children for Success launches Swipe Out Hunger program with support from Madigan Family Foundation (sentinelandenterprise.com) — A Fitchburg-based nonprofit, Empower Children for Success, has launched its new Swipe Out Hunger program, giving $25 grocery gift cards to local families who rely on food pantries. Seed funding from the Madigan Family Foundation allowed the first round of cards to go out, helping residents buy fresh and culturally appropriate foods. ECFS now hopes to expand the program across North Central Massachusetts with more community support.
