$700K Water Street Dam Construction Underway In Foxborough
The long-awaited project began this week, and phase 1 of the project is scheduled to be finished in December. Here's what to know.
FOXBOROUGH, MA — West Street Dam construction is set to begin this week, setting up a months-long project in Foxborough, slated to be completed in December.
Tree clearing in the area started this weekend and is continuing on Monday, completed by Lewis Tree. The company will also employ measures to implement erosion control after the trees are cleared, with a daily road closure from #25 to #31 West Street starting at 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Beginning on Oct. 10, the road closures will be permanent until Dec. 5, concluding phase 1 of the project. In the spring, when piping is available, phase 2 will consist of replacing the water main from South Street to Konet Road and will have daily closures at the location of pipe installation, officials said.

There will be a sidewalk put in on one side of the road, a guardrail and a retaining wall installed for the length of the dam.
