Assistant Town Manager Announces Retirement Plans

Mary Beth Bernard will leave her post in January.

FOXBORUGH, MA — Foxborough Assistant Town Manager Mary Beth Bernard will be leaving her post at the end of the year.

Bernard told the selectmen Tuesday that she will retire, effective January 2019, to spend more time with her granddaughter and do consulting work.

“Duty called, I get the chance to be with my daughter’s daughter two days a week and have some flexibility and do some consulting,” she said.

Bernard cited the centralized human resources, streamlined strategies, and collective bargaining agreements as some of her achievements. She said that she’ll miss Foxborough and the friends she's made, but she’s always a phone call away.

Bernard came to Foxborough in 2014. Prior, she spend 11 years as the human resources director for the Town of Westwood and five as the manager of corporate MBA programs at Babson College.
