Police said Risa Tripp was drunk and had an open beer when she crashed her truck in Easton.

EASTON, MA — A Foxborough woman was drunk and driving around with an open bottle of beer when she crashed and flipped her truck in Easton Thursday night, police said. Risa Tripp, 22, was arrested and charged with a host of crimes.

The crash happened Thursday at about 11:15 p.m. on Beaver Dam Road. Tripp was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck when she veered off the road and hit a stone wall then a utility pole, police said. The impact knocked her vehicle back onto the road on its side. Tripp was not hurt.

Police said they found an open bottle of beer in the vehicle and determined Tripp was drunk. She was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving, a lane violation, failure to wear a seat belt and driving with an open container of alcohol.

“It is very fortunate that no one was seriously injured or killed in any of these crashes,” Easton police Chief Gary Sullivan said in a statement. “With taxis and ride sharing apps, there is no excuse to get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs."

Tripp was scheduled for an arraignment Friday in Taunton District Court.
