Foxborough Officer Receives Award For Gillette Stadium Event Work
Foxborough Police Officer Kerry Kilroy has been selected to receive an award from the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement.

Foxborough Police Officer Kerry Kilroy has been selected to receive an award from the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE). Officer Kilroy has been selected to receive the Spirit of MAWLE Award in the Category of Leadership.
Officer Kilroy was selected to receive this award because of the leadership skills she displays while managing all stadium command and control communications from our unified command center. During large scale stadium event, Officer Kilroy is assigned to “stadium control” which is the stadium’s dispatch center.

During stadium events, Officer Kilroy is responsible for dispatching police personnel and various assets to locations at the stadium and surrounding properties. In doing so, Officer Kilroy has demonstrated an extraordinary grasp of the stadium layout, the intricacies of our deployment strategy and the roles that each officer and each operational team must play. In this position, Officer Kilroy is responsible for directing all individual officers, teams of officers, and assets to hundreds of calls for service during all major events. Often, during the peak times of the event, Officer Kilroy is responsible for prioritizing calls for service to ensure the safety of the patrons and public safety personnel by managing the police response and deployment to various locations around Gillette Stadium.
Officer Kilroy is also responsible for communicating with our assisting local, state, and federal partners that are on site to assist the department with police operations. This interagency communication is critical to the overall police operations at Gillette.

Chief William Baker recommended Officer Kilroy for this award. In his submission, Chief Baker stated, “It is clear from our direct observation in the unified command and from feedback from detail officers that Officer Kilroy has distinguished herself as a leader in this fast pace, high pressure, environment and has earned the trust and confidence of members of my unified command team and of every one of the detail officers assigned to major events who often call in, or text her, for advice or guidance during the event.
“Her continuous, long term, leadership in this role and in this unusual venue makes her unique among women AND men in Massachusetts law enforcement. Every event requires a high degree of problem solving skills, planning, organizational and extra-organizational communication and represents an indispensable contribution to our agency and our collaborative partners in a counter-terrorism environment unmatched in our region.”
Officer Kilroy will be receiving this award on June 19, 2018 at the Spirit of MAWLE Award Ceremony at the Larz Anderson Auto Musuem in Brookline. Attending this event, will be members of the Foxborough Police Department and Officer Kilroy’s family.
Officer Kilroy joined the Foxborough Police Department in 2004 and is currently assigned to the patrol division on the midnight shift.
