New England Patriots, Brian Hoyer Agree On Deal
The Patriots are bringing back a familiar face to give Jarrett Stidham competition for the starting role.

The New England Patriots have reportedly agreed to a deal with quarterback Brian Hoyer, the team's first move at the position since losing Tom Brady to free agency. The Boston Globe first reported the deal.
It's Hoyer's third stint with New England, the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2009. The 34-year-old has spent all of his time in New England backing up Brady, who left the Patriots after 20 years to sign with Tampa Bay.
Hoyer will now compete with second-year signal-caller Jarrett Stidham. They are the only quarterbacks on the roster.

Hoyer has played for eight teams, winning Super Bowl LII as a backup in New England. None of his 38 career starts have come for the Patriots, despite being the team he has spent the most time with.
Stidham threw four passes for the Patriots last season.
