The New England Patriots are reportedly cutting kicker Stephen Gostkowski, the franchise's all-time leading scorer. The Boston Globe reported the team will cut four-time Pro Bowler Monday.

Gostkowski, 36, struggled last season before undergoing season-ending hip injury. Before then, he had attempted every kick for the team since 2011.

The Patriots drafted Gostowski in the fourth round of the 2006 draft. He scored 1,775 points, most in team history and second-most among active players. He also won three Super Bowls with the team, though he never lived up the clutch reputation of the man he supplanted, Adam Vinatieri.

New England is saving $3.4 million by releasing Gostowski, the latest core member of the team's most recent championship run to part ways. Quarterback Tom Brady, linebackers Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins and safety Duron Harmon have all moved on via free agency.

Team leaders Devin McCourty and Matthew Slater have re-upped with the team.
