Unknown Substance Caused Positive Edelman Drug Test: Report
Scientists are now reportedly looking at the test to figure out what's in it.

Julian Edelman said in his apology for his possible four-game suspension that he had no idea what happened, and neither does the NFL, according to a report.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated’s MMQB wrote in his Monday morning column that he was told that the positive drug test was caused by “a substance that wasn’t immediately recognizable,” and now scientists are trying to figure out what it is.
The test happened a couple of months ago, which means that Edelman didn’t test positive for any kind of stimulant, according to Breer.

Word of the failed drug test broke last week and Edelman could miss the first four games of the season if the ban isn’t overturned during the appeal process. Afterward, Edelman posted a message on his Instagram account Friday, which in part stated, "I am very sorry - I don't know what happened. I've taken many, many tests obviously over the course of my career, and nothing like this has ever happened. I apologize to the Kraft Family, my coaches, teammates, and fans."
