1 Dead In Framingham Pedestrian Crash

The driver didn't remain on the scene, but was later located and is charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused death.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A person is charged with leaving the scene of an accident after a 41-year-old pedestrian was killed in a car accident, police said.

Around 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, Framingham police responded to 1881 Worcester Rd. for a pedestrian accident.

"Livesaving efforts were performed on the scene," police said.

The victim, Julie Stewart, 41, of Framingham, was taken to MetroWest Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

Officials said the driver didn't remain on the scene, but was later located and identified as Stewart Anderson, 44, of Framingham. The Middlesex District Attorney's Office said police found the vehicle with "significant" front-end damage.

Stewart's bail was set at $100,000 on the condition that he not drive. The crash remains under investigation.
