5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: April 7

Pedestrian struck on Route 9 identified, downtown roadway meeting, Conservation Commission has opening, and buses available for runners.

Framingham Police identified the pedestrian as Alexandre Diniz, 35, of Marlborough, said Lt. Stephen Cronin. He was listed in critical condition at UMass Memorial in Worcester on April 6.

2. There is a meeting today about the $10 million downtown Framingham roadway project. Framingham’s Economic Development Industrial Corporation is hosting a meeting from 3 to 6 p.m. so stakeholders can hear and ask questions about the plans. The $10 million state project will eliminate the rotary in downtown Framingham with traffic lights. Other aspects of the MassDOT project includes streetscape, road and safety improvements.

3. Eva Stefanini, 94, a fixture at Waverly Market for decades, has died. A Funeral Mass for her will be held Thursday.

4. The Framingham Conservation Commission has an opening for one of its seven seats. Members must be residents of Framingham, and are appointed by the Board of Selectmen. What is necessary is a strong interest in land use and wetland protection. Click here on how to apply.

5. Buses will be made available for Framingham residents, who are running in the 2015 Boston Marathon, thanks to the generosity of the Team Framingham sponsors, announced Assistant Framingham Town Manager Jennifer Thompson and Framingham Selectman Mike Bower.
