FRAMINGHAM, MA — Eight residents were displaced by a Friday morning fire in Framingham.
Firefighters rescued three dogs from the 10:30 a.m. blaze on Arlington Street, according to a post on the fire department's Facebook page.

"Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from the roof of a three-story, wood-frame residential building," the post said.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about an hour, according to the post.
While the three dogs were rescued, two cats perished in the fire, the post said.

Three firefighters suffered minor injuries, according to the post.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Framingham Fire Department and the Fire Prevention Division, the post said.
