5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: September 22

Today is National Voter Registration Day and tonight is the start of the holiest day in Judaism.

1. Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism, begins at sundown tonight. Framingham Public Schools are closed Wednesday to observe the holiday. There are no Selectmen or School Committee meetings tonight, due to the Jewish holiday.

2. FLYERS UPDATE:

  • The boys and girls soccer teams both tied Braintree, with the identical score of 1-1.
  • The girls field hockey team lost to Braintree 2-0

The Framingham High swim & dive team will host AMSA at 3:30 p.m. at Keefe Technical’s Pool.

4. Today is National Voter Registration Day. In 2008, 6 million Americans didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to register. On September 22, 2015, volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” for National Voter Registration Day.
