Access Framingham Unveils Its New Executive Director

After a nation-wide, multi-month search, Framingham Public Access Corporation announced a Boston television journalist will be the new executive director for Access Framingham.
Outgoing Access Framingham President Bill Rabkin unveiled Scott Mercer as the new executive director at the non-profit organization’s annual meeting Monday night, Sept 21.

Mercer is coming from Boston Neighborhood Network (BNN). He has previously worked for New England Cable News, WBZ-TV, Black Entertainment Television (BET), and The Monitor Channel.
Mercer received an Emmy award as host and producer for The Monitor Channel, a cable television station owned and operated by The Christian Science Publishing Society.

Mercer has anchored, hosted, reported and produced sports, news, public affairs, consumer and business programming during his 25 year career.
He will start next week.
Mercer was unveiled in Access Framingham’s new studio, which had a grand opening in June. Access Framingham previously was located in the back of Fuller Middle School on Flagg Drive.
The non-profit corporation “rovides members with training, access to television recording and editing equipment, and cable broadcast air time to show locally recorded programming.”
Anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Framingham is welcome to become a member. More information is available here.
