Adult Coloring, Knitting And More: New Programs Coming to Framingham Public Library in 2017

With adult coloring night and other new programs, Framingham Public Library invites you to come in and take a load off.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Program planners at the Framingham Public Library had the stress of the holiday season on their minds when they scheduled what's just the start of a series of new offerings in the New Year.

It begins with Adult Coloring Night next week. Future programming will include knitting classes and reading groups.

Mary Murphy, who works in collections and circulation at the library, told Patch the programs are a chance to "come in and enjoy the library, and get away from all the stresses in life."

"We want to make the library more like your living room kind of environment," she said.

And they're still busy drumming up new ideas, according to Murphy. Potentially in the works is a scrabble club, for example.

Adulting Coloring Night is January 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the library's J Program Room.

As it's billed on the town's website, "If your New Year’s resolution is to find more time for yourself, then join the Framingham Public Library for an evening of coloring, calming tea, and music. Coloring is relaxing and therapeutic!"
