Team Framingham is seeking application from organization and runners. More details on the criteria below.

The Team Framingham program is overseen by a city-appointed Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee will allocate all of the invitational entries for the 2025 Boston Marathon provided to Framingham through the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) Host Community Program via random selection (lottery).
The Steering Committee established the criteria for runner and charity applicants and will publish these guidelines as part of the runner and charity applications.
There will be a finite number of Framingham-focused 501(c)(3) organizations selected by random drawing following an application process.
Runners selected in the lottery will be required to choose one of the selected organizations to benefit from their fundraising.
A few modifications have been made to the application criteria for runners and charities for 2025.
Changed last year and still in place this year are the following eligibility criteria:
- Employees of subcontractors of the City of Framingham who are currently on the Framingham account and have been for a minimum of one year are eligible to apply. This opens the application pool to Fire Department EMT’s and school department van and bus drivers among others.
- Graduates of Framingham High and Keefe Tech who are 18 to 25 years of age and no longer reside in Framingham are eligible to apply.
- Retirees of service to the City of Framingham or the Framingham Public Schools with a minimum of 5 years of service and residents of Massachusetts are eligible to apply. There is no longer a 10-year cap on applying post-retirement.
Runners selected in the lottery will commit to a fundraising goal of $5,000 and a minimum obligation of $2,500 for 2025. The fundraising goal and minimum obligation may be increased from year to year.
A runner who fails to reach the minimum fundraising obligation will not be eligible to participate in the lottery in the future.
To share the fundraising of our Team Framingham runners with a wider swath of local charities, any charity that was selected during the previous year’s program (2024) will not be eligible for selection for the current year.
The Team Framingham Steering Committee will encourage runners selected to get connected to a marathon training mentor and to participate in periodic team meetings that focus on training and fundraising techniques.
The application period for both charities and runners for the April 2025 Boston Marathon is now open and closes on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
