Richard M. Hughes, 36, Framingham, drove for about 15 to 20 miles in a Ford Escape onto Route 128 and then the Pike, where Troopers deployed tire deflation devices to stop him. Hughes reportedly continued to drive to the ramp to South Station when he struck a cruiser, said a state police spokesperson.
"Detectives had almost given up for the night and were taking one last drive by a salon located in Sherwood Plaza on Route 9 East in Natick," said Rossi, "when they saw the suspect trying to kick in the door to the business."

He faces several charges by multiple agencies but Natick will be charging him with Attempting to Commit a Crime and Malicious Destruction of Property. More charges may be forthcoming after the investigation is completed, said Natick and State police.
