Code Yellow Issued at Dunning Elementary Friday

Just after 10 a.m. Friday morning were called to for "a juvenile problem," according to the log.

The K-5 elementary school issued a "Code Yellow" which means all students and staff are asked to stay in their classrooms.

Principal Kimberly Taylor did issue a memo/email to parents about the incident on Friday.

Several parents forwarded the email/memo to Framingham Patch on Saturday. Framingham Public Schools are closed Monday and Tuesday due to the Jewish holiday.

The memo states: "I am writing to inform you that at one point during today's school day, our school community was involved in a Code Yellow Announcement. Due to the fact that there was some unsafe student behavior being exhibited in and around parts of the building, it was important that students remained in their classrooms for a short period of time while the staff ensured that the hallways and school grounds were passable for your children. Although I am unable to share details of the specific incident at this time, please be assured that at no time were any children in classrooms in any danger or unsafe. Your children may share this information with you this evening, and I hope this email helps to clarify any information that you may hear.
