Framingham Department of Public Works issued its weekly update on road construction in town and where to expect delays and detours.
Concord Street at the northern intersection of “A” Street – New
Sewer main construction is being performed on Concord Street adjacent to the northern intersection of “A” Street. While construction is in progress, traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Click Here For Map)
Concord Street/Howard Street/Waverly Street
Utility construction activities on Concord Street will restrict traffic to a single lane of travel in both the northbound and southbound lanes of Concord Street between Howard Street and Waverly Street. It is necessary to perform this work during the overnight hours to maintain public safety, minimize adverse impacts on emergency response time, traffic flows and business in general. Eaton Road/Eisenhower Road
Water main construction will continue on Eaton Road. It is anticipated that once the water main construction is complete on Eaton Road, crews will begin the installation of the local sewer on Eaton Road working from the cul-de-sac towards Eisenhower Road. While construction is in progress, traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Grant Street (Arthur Street to Hartford Street)/Hartford Street/Grant Street Ext./Gorman Road
Construction crews will continue to perform punch list items, including loaming and seeding. Please use caution and expect delays when travelling in this area. It may be necessary to reduce traffic patterns through the work zones to a lane alternating traffic management plan. Grant Street (between Arthur St. and Howard St.)/Clinton Street (Between Concord St. and Grant St.):
Construction crews will begin trench restoration activities including the installation of a permanent trench binder on Grant Street (between Arthur Street and Howard Street) and on Clinton Street (Between Concord Street and Grant Street). Please use caution and expect delays when travelling in this area. It may be necessary to reduce traffic patterns through the work zones to a lane alternating traffic management plan. Construction activities are schedule to take place daily between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm.
Old Connecticut Path - New
Sewer main construction is being performed on Old Connecticut Path at the Cochituate Rail Trail. While construction is in progress, traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Prospect Street - Updated
Construction crews will continue to pave sidewalks and driveway aprons, utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. It is anticipated that the installation of roadway markings will occur weather permitting mid-week, potentially Wednesday and Thursday. While roadway markings are being installed, Prospect Street will be restricted to local traffic only and temporarily detoured at Worcester Road; travel on Prospect Street will be restricted to one way travel southbound from Central Street exiting on Worcester Road. Speen Street
Deep gravity sewer main construction will continue on Speen Street between Old Connecticut Path and Cochituate Road. Due to the location of the work zone, it may be necessary to detour eastbound traffic on Speen Street to Leggatt McCall Connector Road, from Leggatte McCall Connector Road to Cochituate Road while construction is in progress. Arsenal Road Roadway Restoration
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue to perform the installation of sidewalks on Arsenal Road. While construction activities are in progress, traffic will be detoured locally. All construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Expect delays while traveling in this area. Edgell Road/Central Street Novachip Installation - Updated
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will begin the installation of the Novachip surface treatment on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 on Edgell Road (between Central Street and Water Street) and Central Street (between Haynes Road and Centennial Place). Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan and potential detours. All construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Expect delays while traveling in this area.
